Insurances for Skipper & Crew
It is covered in the partial or total withholding of the charter deposit by the owner/charterer due to loss or damage caused by the private policyholder or the crew.
Before you start your charter you provide a certain amount against damages that may arise, depending on the sailing boat you choose.
You have to pay a deposit for yachts up to 40’: 2000 € and more than 40’: 3.000 € by one or more credit card or cash which is fully refundable in case there is no damage upon return. In case of an accident or damage, the amount of this damage is kept and paid by this deposit.
The Security or the Non-Refundable Deposit applies per accident (damage or loss). This means that should an incident occur, in order to be covered against a 2nd incident, the Charterer must leave a new security or Non-Refundable deposit equal to the initial amount. In any other case, the charter agreement will be terminated.
Insurance of the deposit
You have the option not to pay this guarantee but to be charged a non-refundable amount and you are released from the above guarantee
The cost Insurance of the deposit is about 8% of the amount of the guarantee and only damages caused to the vessel are insured.
If you choose the Deposit Insutance will have to pay also as a guarantee in cash or credit card total amount 1000€, which is fully refundable in case there is none of the following 4 events.
1• Damages or losses caused by negligence, vandalism, or theft.
2• Loss of the dinghy and/or of the outboard engine
3• Fees for cleaning and fuel refilling charges that are required to be paid at the return.
4• The charges required if, failing to deliver the yacht, at the place and/or at the date of return, the fuel tank filling.
In case of an accident or damage for the 1,2,3,4 reasons, the amount of this damage is kept and paid by this deposit 1000€.
* Note that the insurance will not cover any damage created on purpose or created by your intended mistake. It will cover accidents that may occur during your sailing trip by accident, or due to bad weather or other circumstances.
